Junk food and beer...my stomach is doing backflips.

Just home after a long and exhausting couple of days. I took a homesick Italian researcher out tonight to see Casino Royale and to have a beer. Home late.

Daniel Craig: Thank you for taking your shirt off, and for staring from the screen with your piercing blue eyes. :)

I'm ridiculously happy. But in a sane way (seriously). I really like this guy, and I feel that he likes me too. All I can say is that it feels natural. No drama, all openness and honesty. And he's taking things slowly, respectfully. It's all very good. We're going to see a movie tomorrow before he heads out for a weekend in New York. It's great.

And, get this...I think I mentioned this but...I got renewed at work! I'm renewed and will then have to face the competition for permanence in May or something...But the fact that they managed to get me a new contract for the winter is fantastic. Now that that stress has been released I can move forward and enjoy life a little bit more.

My head is dropping to the keyboard, so I suppose that I should go to bed. But not before mentioning what happened to me yesterday.

Something went wrong with my bike lock (frozen, rusted, perhaps...I really hope not fully broken), so my bike is still held hostage by the bike racks out where I work. So picture this: Young woman with large backpack wearing leather all-weather L@nds' End moccasins running home in bike tights, a pink button down shirt and black v-neck sweater, down parka and...bike helmet. Good thing I only live four miles from the office. :-) I'm too stubborn to take the bus. Although I took the express bus this morning and it was very convenient and pleasant--17 minutes from the moment I left my door to walk to the stop, to sitting in my office. And some nice men along the way said hello and gave me a free newspaper. What more can one ask? Well, why the heck must they charge $2 each way for the pleasure of riding the bus? (Yes, the government does not invest adequately in public transport--that's it.)

The thing is that it is natural for me to run. When I need to get somewhere I just start running. It's a little bit like Julie Andr3ws breaking out into song.

Must eat something healthy now, before I forget. And then get my beauty sleep. Popcorn and nachos do not a healthy diet make.

Have a great day tomorrow, one and all.
