No need to say that.

Esausto, yet again.

What a horrible night last night. I actually bought some gravol on a colleague's recommendation, to knock myself out tonight in case I can't sleep. Not sure what is going on.

In any event, in spite of feeling physically dreadful all day, it was an uneventful day and I was quite productive. That is, I was productive to the degree that you call crashing your computer a dozen times as you try to run statistical software with 1200 megabytes of data productive. :)

Oh well. At lunch I took a quick walk out to the library. Thank goodness that I do this. I go to the basement where there is a little "friends of the library" shop manned by little old ladies. There they sell off old stuff - literature, poetry, history, yadda yadda, i.e. the stuff that most people don't want. That suits me just fine as it's the stuff that I want to read! For a buck or two I get a perfectly good used book, usually with a story attached. Today I bought a 1945 Simone de Beauvoir (The Blood of Others) and a collection of Michael Ondaatje's poetry. I found myself touching the spines of the other books there - fondling books: WHAT!? - because I love them so much. I know - gotta get a life.

Anyhow. What a wonderful oasis. I know that I could never work as a librarian as it would involve too much administration to keep me interested. It's still nice to retreat into such a place.

Ah well. No progress was made today on anything with respect to my next move in life, but that's OK. For now I am focusing on financial objectives and on getting myself to do one new thing each month. I don't know what this month's thing will be - nor next month's! ;-) - but I've decided that for May it will definitely be that studio course in Florence.

I just sent the note to register for it! Dive in, I say!

Off to knit and to eat the mushroom, kale and barley soup that I prepared last night (though not at the same time). BON!

Hope you had good days.
